More than 300 motorcycle riders are expected to arrive at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center on Tuesday, May 19, as the ‘Run For The Wall’ group makes a scheduled stop during its cross-country ride to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

As part of the riders’ cross-country journey, the Tuscaloosa VAMC will welcome participants for a brief rest stop and meet‑and‑greet, made possible with support from community partners including Buffalo Rock, Elks Lodge #393, Tuscaloosa County Parks and Recreation Authority (PARA), the Veterans Affairs Council of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, and others.

According to the press release, “The medical center is inviting community members to show their support by gathering along the sidewalks on the main drive to greet the riders as they arrive.”

Community members are encouraged to arrive early and gather along the main drive sidewalks to welcome riders, with parking available in Lots 2 and 3.

On Tuesday, May 19, the riders arrive at 9:45 a.m. at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, located at 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404, and will depart at 11:15 a.m.

Dedicated to honoring and supporting the military community, ‘Run For The Wall’ works to promote healing for Veterans, families, and friends while advocating for accountability for all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action.

The organization also pays tribute to those Killed in Action from all wars and supports active military personnel serving around the world.
