Thursday night, I met a couple of my girlfriends at Surin of Thailand for midnight sushi. When I left there, I stopped by the radio station to do a little work. What I saw when I left there was AMAZING!

My route home took me through the intersection of Skyland and McFarland. The service station on that corner was SWAMPED!!! There were so many cars at the station that the crowd spilled into adjacent lots. At first, I wondered if something serious was happening, but then I saw two police cars go through the intersection in another direction with no lights or urgency. So, they weren't going to a call and they saw no apparent reason to go to the service station.

I remember back in the day when my friends and I would "post up" just about anywhere. So, I understood how such a massive crowd could peacefully assemble, but it also made me think that they must have been young. This caused me to wonder: Other than clubs and bars, why aren't more businesses open late? How often does the theater stay open for a midnight movie? Why is cosmic bowling only on the weekend?

For those that are 30+ and can't see yourself congregating in a random parking lot, what would you like to enjoy for a midnight outing?
