TuscArts OnStage Announces 2026-27 Season at Bama Theatre

The curtain is set to rise for another exciting year of entertainment as The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa announces its 2026-27 TuscArts OnStage season.

Featuring a five-show lineup, the season will bring an eclectic mix of rock, Broadway-inspired performances, family-friendly theater, jazz, and iconic pop music to the Historic Bama Theatre. The new season offers something for audiences of every age.

Beyond the performances themselves, the Arts Council hopes that each show leaves a lasting impression on audiences.

“I hope they leave energized and connected, with a great memory and a feeling that they experienced something special together in the Bama Theatre built with the hopes of bringing the community together,” said Nicholas J. Finch, Communications and Design Specialist for The Arts and Humanities of Tuscaloosa County, Inc.

This season is sure to create a memorable experience that ranges from music to theater to family-friendly entertainment.

For those who have never attended a TuscArts OnStage performance, Finch has a simple invitation. “Give us one night,” he said. “Come curious, bring someone you enjoy, experience something new, and be prepared to eat the best popcorn in town.”

Back In Black: The Ultimate Powered Up AC/DC Experience
Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026 | 8 p.m.

“One of the nation's premier AC/DC tribute bands. The group recreates the excitement, power and spectacle of an authentic AC/DC concert, delivering the music, energy and spirit that made the legendary rock band a global phenomenon,” said the press release.

Music of Mancini performed by Jukebox Saturday Night
Friday, Oct. 16, 2026 | 7 p.m.

The press release said this will be a “celebration of the unforgettable works of legendary composer Henry Mancini. The performance features favorites from The Glenn Miller Story, Peter Gunn, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Pink Panther and more, accompanied by engaging narration highlighting Mancini's remarkable journey from Pittsburgh to Hollywood,” said the press release.

TheaterWorksUSA presents The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System
Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026 | 4 p.m.

This show is “based on the beloved children's book series, the production follows Ms. Frizzle and her students on an exciting space adventure that teaches teamwork, friendship and science through music, laughter and imaginative storytelling,” said the press release.

Jazz at Lincoln Center PRESENTS: World on a String – Swinging Songs of Broadway
Featuring Kate Kortum and David Marino
Monday, March 29, 2027 | 7 p.m.

The press release said that “for more than 30 years, Jazz at Lincoln Center has served as one of the world's foremost advocates for jazz performance, arts education and cultural exchange. Under the artistic direction of Wynton Marsalis, the organization has presented performances in more than 446 cities across over 40 countries.”

Friday, April 16, 2027 | 8 p.m.

“The production faithfully recreates the music, costumes, choreography and excitement of one of the world's most beloved pop groups.
