Uber Allegedly Paid to Keep Data Breach a Secret
Soooo….. Looks like designated drivers will get their places back now that this has hit the news.
Apparently, Uber experienced a data breach over a year ago. It is said to have affected 57 million customers.
Now, many companies experience such things, and customers are usually notified. This gives them an opportunity to keep a close watch on future transactions. However, Uber didn’t notify its customers. In fact, the company is said to have paid $100,000 to hackers to keep their mouths closed! What kinda foolishness is THAT?
