Usher, Common and More to Headline Peace and Justice Concert

Grammy-winning artists Usher, Common, The Roots and more have been tapped to perform at the Equal Justice Initiative's Concert for Peace and Justice event, which takes place on April 27 at Riverwalk Amphitheater in Montgomery, Ala.

Also on the bill are Kirk Franklin, Gary Clark Jr., Brittany Howard (from Alabama Shakes) and more special guests.

The Concert for Peace and Justice is among several events surrounding the opening of the National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum on April 26. The memorial dedicated to racial terror lynchings of African-Americans and the legacy of slavery and racial inequality in America The Legacy Museum offers interactive media, sculptures, videography, and exhibits about the domestic slave trade, racial terrorism, the Jim Crow South, and prison industrial complex.

In addition, there will be a Peace and Justice Summit featuring panels and talks with influential leaders and speakers like Michelle Alexander, Ava DuVernay Sherrilyn Ifill, Gloria Steinem, Vice President Al Gore, the Roots, Marian Wright Edelman, Janet Mock, and many others.
