USS Alabama (SSBN-731) is the sixth Ohio-class nuclear-powered fleet ballistic missile submarine named for the state of Alabama and home ported in Bangor, Washington love the Crimson Tide! The crew got together to give UA a Big Roll Tide!

The video was recorded back in December and was featured on the University of Alabama's Facebook page. The post read "The crew of the USS Alabama submarine in Bangor, Wash. gave a shout out to The University of Alabama Wednesday ahead of its change-of-command ceremony today. The USS Alabama is the same ship featured in the 1995 movie “Crimson Tide.”

Glenn Sircy, APR and Navy Office of Community Outreach reached out to us today via email and asked if we would "consider" sharing their shout out video.. Sir, we are honored.

Glenn also included in his email "Why Being There Matters"

On our planet, more than 70 percent of which is covered by water, being there means having the ability to act from the sea. The Navy is uniquely positioned to be there; the world's oceans give the Navy the power to protect America's interests anywhere, and at any time. Your Navy protects and defends America on the world's oceans. Navy ships, submarines, aircraft and, most importantly, tens of thousands of America's finest young men and women are deployed around the world doing just that. They are there now. They will be there when we are sleeping tonight. They will be there every Saturday, Sunday and holiday this year. They are there around the clock, far from our shores, defending America at all times.

Thank you very much for your support of the men and women in U.S. Navy, deployed around the clock and ready to protect and defend America on the world's oceans.

Lets continue to support our U.S. Navy! To learn more about USS Alabama visit the ship's website here
