I've said it time and time again, 2021 is a great year for sports in Alabama. College sports and high school sports are killing the game! The Ironmen of Holt High School's Basketball team is yet another Alabama team that's doing well this season.

Tonight, February 22nd, 2021, the Ironmen of Holt High School will face off with Vigor in the 4A Boys Regional Finals at 7:30p.

It can't be easy to take a team this far in the season. I spoke with Holt's head basketball coach Steven Watkins on their game tonight and their opponent.

"Tonight we play the Regional final against Vigor, who pulled off a very impressive win over the defending state champs. They’ve been on a hot streak, so I’m sure we will have our hands full with the match up."

The Holt High School Boys Basketball team boarded the bus to head to Montgomery for tonight's game and the school sent them off with plenty of cheers and energy. You can tell the school is proud of the boys for all they've accomplished so far.

I have to agree with coach Watkins, it won't be an easy task to grab a win tonight but we're definitely rooting for Holt. Facing a team that took down the defending state champs is a very demanding game to play and the players have to be mentally ready to do it.

With emotions high ahead of tonight's game, I had to ask coach what it would mean to grab a win tonight. He replied,

"This opportunity is one that holds high value, and a W tonight would mean we have the chance that every school playing this time of year is seeking...the opportunity to make it to the Final Four."

We're wishing the team and staff safe travels and good luck in tonight's game! If you'd like to watch Holt take on Vigor in tonight's 4A Boys Regional Finals, click here to stream the game.
