
West Alabama Faces Two Rounds of Severe Storms
The Townsquare Media Weather Center is currently monitoring a low-level risk for severe storms in two rounds between Friday night and Saturday evening.
For both rounds, the Storm Prediction Center has portions of West Alabama under a “Marginal Risk,” which is a level 1 out of 5.

Round One
West Alabama Counties Impacted Friday night into Saturday morning
Bibb (a good portion of the county)
Fayette
Greene (the northern section of the county)
Hale (the very northern section of the county)
Lamar
Pickens
Sumter (the very northern section of the county)
Tuscaloosa
Walker
Threats in Round One
The current threats associated with this incoming weather system are the potential for large hail.
Round Two
West Alabama Counties Impacted Saturday morning through Saturday Evening
Bibb (southern portion of the county)
Greene (southern portion of the county)
Hale
Perry
Sumter (a very small part of the southern portion of the county)
Threats in Round Two
Within this round of possible severe weather, there is the threat of large hail and damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph.
Rain Chances
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that “everyone will receive some rain with forecast rain amounts around 0.5-0.75" for Friday through Saturday.”
