The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk, which includes a portion of Bibb County and a small corner of northeast Perry County.

The timeline for active weather is from “Noon to 9 p.m.,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham. The main threats are “damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph.”

James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist, said that “roughly the eastern half of the state " will be affected tomorrow afternoon. Where storms do develop, they could pack a punch with strong winds.”

Don’t Forget the HEAT

As much as we'd like to forget about the heat, stay aware of hot conditions because heat-related illnesses are serious.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect Saturday, September 19, from Noon until 8 p.m. Heat index values could climb as high as 108 degrees for some West Alabama counties. Residents are encouraged to be mindful about these hot conditions.
