The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 10:00 p.m. this evening (Wednesday, October 27, 2021) until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021. You can expect southerly winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected. These gusty winds “could blow around unsecured objects or decorations. Tree limbs and damaged or weakened trees could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.” Also, you should “use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that “tomorrow will be cloudy and much cooler with periods of light rain. The day will also be windy; west winds will average 10-20 mph, with gusts to 25 mph. A wind advisory is in effect for most of the state. Temperatures will hover in the low 60s much of the day, and the wind will make it feel cooler. Then, on Friday, a deep upper low will develop just northeast of Alabama and will bring a winter-like day to the state. Friday will be cloudy with some light rain and times, and temperatures will hold in the low to mid-50s... 20 degrees below average for late October.”
