Wind Advisory in Effect Until Noon Christmas Eve
Look for a breezy start to the holidays in West Alabama as gusty winds are possible tonight and throughout the morning of Christmas Eve.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Wind Advisory in effect through 12 noon Thursday, December 24th. The text of the advisory is as follows:
...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON CST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected. * WHERE...All of Central Alabama. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to noon CST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Any holiday decorations should also be tied down and secured. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
Temperatures will turn sharply colder as well; lows will be in the teens on Christmas Day. Tuscaloosa's high Friday will be near 37 degrees.
