The Alabama ban on same sex marriage could cost the University of Alabama between $16 and $18 million.

A couple of Alabama Alumni who gave the University $1 million to the University of Alabama ten years ago have dropped their plans to leave their estate, which they say is worth about $15 to $18 million to the university because of the states stand on same sex marriage.

The couple is so outraged by the states stand that they are not sure whether they will ever spend the night in the state again.

The couple is afraid that gay couples in Alabama face a long struggle for the rights that won’t end even if the U.S. Supreme Court strikes down state bans on same-sex marriage this summer. Read more here at Al.com
