Marva Whitney dies at 68.

And right about now it is star time!  You are about to be entertained by “The Hardest Working Man in Show Business, Mr. Please, Please, Please, ladies and gentlemen put your hands together for Soul Brother Number 1!! James Brown.  At that time James Brown took the stage and the next ninety minutes were non-stop James Brown.  At the end of evening you were in awe.  James Brown was famous for his showmanship and ever so tight band and the people he had around him.  He always had an opening act. The opening act I remember the most was Marva Whitney.  Marva was full of energy and got as funky as she wanted too.  Marva Whitney died on December 29 2012. I’ve posted a video of an early performance by Marva, enjoy.
