The five-year anniversary of the April 27, 2011, tornado that hit Tuscaloosa and many more towns across the state of Alabama provides us a chance to appreciate how far the city has come in a short time.

This Wednesday marks five years since the destructive F4 tornado destroyed Tuscaloosa and several events are planned to commemorate the day our community was changed.

In February, an EF-2 tornado touched down in Pickens County and caused widespread damage to buildings and homes. Habitat for Humanity in Tuscaloosa wants to help the victims rebuild and is actively raising money to build two homes in the hardest hit area near Sapps Road in Pickens County...

The National Weather Service has conformed that an EF-2 tornado touched down in Pickens County yesterday, and the massive storm was captured on video.

More than four years after the devastating tornado hit Tuscaloosa and other areas around the state, a missing person from that storm has been located in Florida.
