Yesterday morning, the body of Parker Alexander Jordan was found at the Theta Chi house at the University of Alabama.  While the cause of death has not been released, it is not thought to be linked to hazing.

One person was killed in an accident on 20/59 yesterday in almost the same place a person was killed Friday afternoon. A dump truck caught fire, resulting in traffic being extremely backed up for several hours.

One person was killed in a wreck with a school bus in Brent this morning.  No students were on the bus.

Yesterday, sheriff's deputies reported to the scene of a home invasion and thought the suspect was still inside the house. However, after a brief standoff, further investigation showed that no one was in the home.

Uber drivers will now face possible arrests for not following city regulations, which include a proper business license and background checks for drivers.

According to an analysis conducted by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, Alabama ranks as one of the top three states for giving to charity, with local charities receiving the bulk of donations.

Bans on gay and lesbian marriages are being lifted in Virginia and expected to soon fall in the Carolinas, but opponents vow to fight on, hoping some federal appeals court upholds a ban and pressures the high court to hear a case.

Alabama running back Kenyan Drake and linebacker Denzell Devall have had surgeries for their injuries in Saturday's game. Devall is expected to return in three to four weeks, while Drake will be out for the season. In addition, center Ryan Kelly will be out a few weeks with a sprained knee.
