A 24-year-old man surrendered at Mobile County Metro Jail to face a murder charge in connection with the scalding death of a 2-year-old girl for spilling cookie crumbs on the floor.Jeremy James of Mobile came to the jail to surrender and was held without bail.
James was charged in connection with the death of Kennedy Forrest, who was severely burned in a tub of scalding water.
James severely disciplined the girl after becoming angry with her for spilling cookie crumbs on the floor and placed her in the tub. The girl suffered 2nd- and 3rd-degree burns over much of her body and was in critical condition at USA Children's & Women's Hospital when the decision was made to move her to the burn unit at UAB Hospital where she later died.                                                                                                 James had been arrested Jan. 21 on a charge of willful abuse of a child and was released on bail.
