25-Year-Old Charged with Capital Murder After Fatal Drive-By
A 25-year-old in Tuscaloosa has been charged with capital murder after a fatal drive-by shooting on James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway Wednesday night.
A Tuscaloosa Police Department spokesperson said Alajuwon Winters is believed to have fired shots from the vehicle he was inside and struck an SUV on the road near the Marathon service station at the intersection of James I Harrison, Jr. Parkway and Greensboro Avenue.
A 19-year-old inside the SUV, Dangelo Jackson, was struck by the gunfire and killed.
The TPD spokesperson said Winters will also be charged with attempted murder and reckless endangerment.
If convicted on the capital murder charge, the only sentences possible for Winters are life without the possibility of parole in prison or the death penalty.
He will be held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
