The No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team will get a chance to simulate an NCAA tournament weekend with this coming weekend's games. Alabama had its game with Texas A&M postponed from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon and will now take on the Aggies at 2 p.m. CT on Feb. 18. The game was moved due to the inclement weather that has swept over the southern part of the country.

The postponement places stress on the Tide as they are scheduled to take on Vanderbilt less than 48 hours after the A&M game. Oats explained that he has a plan in place to overcome this challenge.

"In this case we're all moving on, there's not enough time to do the whole clean-up on it. Everybody's immediately moving on to Vanderbilt after the A&M game. So, with the players 100% focus on A&M, as soon as it's over win or lose, we're moving on to Vanderbilt because we've got the short prep time," said Oats.

Oats said the players would have Vanderbilt material loaded into their devices after the A&M game and that he and his staff would have a game plan ready for the team at the following day's practice.

Texas A&M and Vanderbilt are last place in the SEC standings but this presents an opportunity for the Crimson Tide to not only secure the conference championship with two wins but also simulate an NCAA tournament weekend.

NCAA tournament rounds usually only have one day in between them and this will give the Tide, which hasn't been in the NCAA tournament since 2018, an opportunity to simulate a successful tournament weekend.
