In a year that's all about changes and alterations the Alabama men's basketball team is having its opening game with Jacksonville State changed for television purposes. The game will now tip-off at 7 p.m. instead of the original 6:30 p.m.

Alabama enters the season ranked as high as No. 25 in the Coaches Poll and No. 29 in the AP poll. Nate Oats gets a chance at a fresh season with the roster looking more as he envisions for this program. Alabama returns Preseason First-Team All-SEC guard John Petty and Preseason Second-Team All-SEC wing Herb Jones along with Jaden Shackelford and Alex Reese. Their experience combined with the additions to the roster have increased expectations for the Tide on the hardwood.

Alabama brings in Jordan Bruner to provide shooting along with rebounding help in the Alabama front-court. Jahvon Quinerly can finally see action for Alabama after sitting out all last season due to NCAA transfer restrictions. Quinerly will likely take over the vacant point guard position and try to show the nation why he was a former 5-star prospect.

The roster will be bolstered by incoming freshman Josh Primo and Keon Ambrose-Hylton. The two Canadians were teammates on Canada's U19 team that participated in the FIBA World Cup in Greece in 2019.

Oats will have much better depth entering the 2020-21 season than his original season in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide opens its 13-game home season on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
