The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that the “main threat will be damaging winds, which may down a number of trees due to recent rainfall and preceding drought. Large hail will also be possible, but less of a threat.”

  • Damaging Winds – Gusts up to 60 mph
  • Large Hail – Up to the Quarter Size

“Wind profiles do not support tornado formation,” said James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist. “In fact, we are officially out of tornado season. In Alabama, it runs from November through May.”
