For Alabama, the overall feeling of Fall is shaping up to be warm and dry, like most of the country. However, The Old Farmer’s Almanac said to expect “a cooler- and drier-than-average September will be followed by an October expected to be 2°F warmer than average with near-average rainfall.”

The National Weather Service is also forecasting a warmer-than-normal October, November, and December for Alabama, with the entire state facing a “33-40%” chance of above-normal temperatures.

When it comes to precipitation, however, the outlook shifts slightly. The National Weather Service’s Seasonal Precipitation Outlook for October, November, and December calls for above-normal precipitation across the entire state.

Northern Alabama is in the “33-40%” range for above-normal precipitation, while the middle portion of the state, including West Alabama, falls in the “40-50% range. Southern Alabama likelihood increases for above-normal precipitation due to its “50-60% chance.”
