Today, we honor every teacher in the world but specifically in West Alabama as it’s World Teachers’ Day!

Since the start of virtual learning, many parents have expressed a new respect for teachers.  The occupation is truly one to which a person should feel is his or her life’s purpose and definitely isn’t for the faint of heart.

Not only are we more privy to the challenges some teachers have with keeping the students’ attention, but thanks to either a lack of understanding video calls or a clear disregard of the fact that their households are now on display for teachers, other classmates, and sometimes other parents, some students’ home situations are now exposed, shedding light on the situations teachers attempt to combat for those children to even be open to learning and retaining the knowledge they’re given.

It doesn’t have to be hard or expensive.

Most teachers provided information sheets about themselves to the students and parents at the start of the school year. Here are six gifts which can be given to teachers as a sign of recognition and appreciation.

6 Ways to Show Teacher Appreciation

Because we are in unprecedented times for our generations, many teachers are undergoing challenges they've never before faced. Most are doing the best they can.

This doesn't mean they're going to be perfect but that they are certainly trying. A little positive reinforcement can go a long way.

In whatever way you choose, whether it's your child's teacher, a teacher friend, or a teacher relative, be sure to take a moment to put a smile on that teacher's face today.  No doubt, they need it!
