Tropical Storm Barry Update

This weekend you can expect Tropical Storm Barry to bring mostly cloudy conditions with showers and storms.  Right now, if Barry stays on its projected course (which know could change) it appears that most of the rain amounts will take place in the afternoon and evening hours but we can’t rule out some pop up tropical airmass rain.  The projected heaviest rain total amounts could take place on the western side of Alabama close to the Mississippi border with a ranger between 4 to 6 inches.  Central Alabama could reach between 2 to 4 inches with the eastern side of Alabama reaching between 1 to 2 inches.  There is also the possibility for a low end tornado threat for parts of West and Southwest Alabama.  Here is some more insight from our friend, Meteorologist James Spann with his July 12, 2019 Weather Xteme Video-Morning Edition.

Keeping you weather aware, @MaryKRadio
