Portions of Alabama are faced with another day of brutal heat index values.

A “HEAT ADVISORY” issued by the National Weather Service in Birmingham remains in effect until Thursday at 9 p.m.

The concern is that heat index values could reach up to 106 degrees in portions of Alabama. Also, the threat of hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses to occur.
