There's no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a surge in online shopping, but there is still a need for in-person shopping. Stores rely on regular customers to keep their employees paid and their doors open.

Of course, that looks a bit different as more people are apprehensive about going into stores and those who do enter area businesses wear face coverings and are less likely than before to interact with store personnel.

For those who seek to shop in person while maintaining social distancing, there is a holiday market coming to Snow Hinton Park.

On Saturday, December 12, 205 Youth Outreach will host a market for area vendors to set up and sell their goods to holiday shoppers.  The event will begin at 10:00am and will include music, vendors, gift shops, raffles, and more!

The family-friendly function will have food trucks on location for diners to eat, and hot cocoa will be available for those who need to warm up a bit. Children will also have the opportunity to meet Santa.

Vendors who would like to set up should call (800) 576-1002 Ext 1.

This event will give residents the chance to shop with their families and friends while also providing exposure for said families and friends.  Holiday shopping always brings about a festive mood to everyone, including the most cynical and pessimistic.

However, it takes on a whole new meaning when you realize you're helping someone who lives near you by supporting his or her business. So, be sure to mark you calendars and make plans to support local business.
