Alabama, for the second consecutive week, has been left outside of the AP Top-25 poll despite winning both of its conference games this week.

The latest AP top-25 poll saw Alabama barely miss the cut, finishing just eight points behind No. 25 Kentucky in the polls, which Alabama defeated 89-74 back on January 3rd in the Tide’s first conference game this season.

Alabama had a successful past week, going 2-0 in conference play with a 100-97 nail-biter win over Texas A&M early in the week. Six members of the Crimson Tide scored in double digits, with Aden Holloway leading the charge with 20 points. At the same time, Labaron Philon followed closely behind with 17.

The Crimson Tide had another fantastic offensive performance against Auburn in the Iron Bowl of Basketball this past Saturday, which saw the Tide walk away from Neville Arena with a 96-92 win. This was fueled by a 25-point, five-rebound, and six-assist performance by Philon, while freshman forward Amari Allen played a big role in that win with his 17 points and six rebounds.

This week’s AP Top-25 only saw four SEC teams, with the highest-ranked team from the conference being No.14 Florida, with Vanderbilt being five spots behind the Gators at No.19, Arkansas coming in two spots behind the Commodores at No.21, and Kentucky just slipped into the poll at No.25.
