Alabama fans got some good news a couple of days ago when running back Roydell Williams announced he would return to the Crimson Tide for one final season.

Williams seems to have had a change of heart. Instead of returning to the Crimson Tide, Williams has decided to enter his name in the transfer portal and will leave the program.

The decision to return appeared good for both parties. Alabama returned a veteran running back to teach some of the younger players in the room, and Williams would have a chance to be a lead running back after spending time behind Brian Robinson Jr., Jahmyr Gibbs, Trey Sanders, and Jase McClellan during his time at Alabama.

During his time at Alabama, Williams has rushed for 1,165 yards and 11 touchdowns in 45 games.

Alabama appears to be making room in the running back room for some younger talent in Justice Haynes and Jam Miller. Alabama's depth is still fine with those two and Richard Young and Kevin Riley. Alabama could potentially add another running back in Daniel Hill on January 6.
