Former Alabama MBB Center Charles Bediako Files for Voluntary Dismissal of Lawsuit
Former Alabama men's basketball center Charles Bediako has dropped his lawsuit against the NCAA following his failed efforts to regain his eligibility to play for the Crimson Tide this season, according to a report by Nick Kelly of AL.com.

Mike Rodak of Bama247 also reported that Bediako and the NCAA filed a joint motion last week in the Alabama Supreme Court, requesting the dismissal of the appeal of his case.
Bediako had originally filed a lawsuit against the NCAA in the Tuscaloosa Circuit Court to regain his eligibility, seeking a preliminary injunction against the NCAA to play for Alabama. Bediako's attorney argued that he was within his five-year window to play for Alabama, and he played for the Crimson Tide in five games this season under a temporary restraining order, which was dissolved after Tuscaloosa Circuit Court Judge Daniel Pruet denied Bediako a preliminary injunction.
Bediako then appealed to the Alabama Supreme Court and filed another request with Judge Pruet for an interim injunction while his appeal was pending. Judge Pruet also denied that request, and Bediako filed a request for an interim injunction with the Alabama Supreme Court, pending his appeal to the ASC. The Alabama Supreme Court denied it.
With Monday's joint filing between Bediako and the NCAA to dismiss the lawsuit and appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court, it ends his pursuit of extra eligibility to play for Alabama this season.
