We are less than 60 days away from SEC football, with Missouri kicking off the Southeastern Conference's season on Thursday, September 3, and the rest of the SEC getting started on Saturday, September 5.

The SEC Championship is one of the most coveted awards in the sport, with Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs winning four out of the last five SEC Championships, including the last two over Texas and Alabama. Every SEC Championship since the 2014 season has featured either Alabama or Georgia, showing the dominance of those two programs over the last decade. The 2026 edition of the conference title game is expected to have one of the two teams in it again, with Georgia poised to be the third team to win back-to-back-to-back SEC titles, while Alabama is striving to prove the doubters wrong after a disappointing end to its 2025 campaign.

Conference newcomers Texas and Oklahoma have both come close to winning the SEC, with Texas falling in overtime to Georgia in the Longhorns' inaugural season in the conference in 2024, and the Sooners going 10-2 last season, and were an upset away from a trip to Atlanta. The resurgence of Ole Miss in recent years has put the Rebels on the doorstep of their first appearance in Atlanta in recent years, and LSU is expecting to return to powerhouse status under new head coach Lane Kiffin.
