It's also the time for black bears to get those last few big meals before they take a long nap.

The big bears like to load up on as many calories as they can to give them plenty of cushion while they snooze.

Multiple reports are coming in of black bears being spotted across Alabama.

Earlier this week, a report of a black bear attempting to enter a Publix store was captured on video and went viral.

Just before that, someone recorded a video of the same bear dumpster-diving near the same Publix store.

These are the final days before hibernation for black bears to stuff their faces and long snouts.

If you come across a black bear in Alabama, the experts have some tips on how to handle the encounter.

In other black bear news, you have to see the pictures of the bear that fell through a family's ceiling and ended up snoozing on top of their stove.

According to the family, the bear tore a hole in the attic and then crashed through, landing in their kitchen.

The family lives in Kentucky, but they have roots in Alabama.
