Alabama Inmate Still on the Run, Authorities Asking Public’s Help

The Alabama Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help locating an escaped inmate.

Daniel Lee Smallwood was convicted of burglary and was serving a four-year and five-month sentence at the Elba Community Based Facility and Community Work Center located in Elba, AL.

Friday, September 9, 2023, authorities discovered that Smallwood was missing from his place of employment around 1:00 a.m. Smallwood’s last known location was at Inzi Controls, located in Elba, Alabama.

Daniel Smallwood is a white male age 38 and stands 5’7” weighing 150 pounds. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Daniel Lee Smallwood authorities are asking the public to contact them as soon as possible. Smallwood has been charged with escape and is still at large at the time of this report.
