West Alabama Workforce Center Unveils Renovations

The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and West Alabama Works are inviting the community to get a first look at renovations to a downtown Tuscaloosa facility focused on workforce and economic development.

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house for the newly renovated West Alabama Workforce and Community Development Center will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 2222 9th Street.

The ribbon cutting is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m., followed by an open house from 4 to 6 p.m.

During the event, community members, business leaders and local partners will have an opportunity to tour the renovated facility and learn more about the resources and services available through the center.

Guests will also be able to explore business meeting spaces available through The Chamber. The facility can accommodate meetings, training sessions, receptions and other business and community events.

The West Alabama Workforce and Community Development Center serves as a collaborative space designed to strengthen the region’s workforce, support economic growth and connect businesses and individuals with resources and opportunities.

“These renovations represent an important investment in the future of workforce and community development in West Alabama,” Chamber President and CEO Kyle South said.

South said the improvements provide a more welcoming, functional and collaborative environment for businesses, workforce partners and the community.

The Chamber and West Alabama Works are encouraging members of the public, business community and partner organizations to attend the Sept. 10 celebration and see the improvements firsthand.

The open house will continue until 6 p.m. following the ribbon cutting ceremony.
