Free Back-to-School Haircuts Set for Hale County

Families in Hale County have an opportunity to help students head back to school looking and feeling their best during the upcoming Fresh Start: Fresh Cuts event.

Hosted by the Heritage of Hope Association, the event will provide free back-to-school haircuts for students in Pre-K through 12th grade on Monday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hale County High School Auditorium.

Organizers say the event is about more than just a haircut. Their message, "More than a haircut. It's a fresh start," highlights the confidence that comes with beginning a new school year feeling prepared.

Several local barbers are volunteering their time and talents to serve students, including Toyvian Brand of Clipper King Barbershop, RJ Anderson, and Ren and Ruben Stallworth of Twinz Kutz. The Twinz Kutz team will also participate in memory of Ruby Jean Stallworth.

The event is designed to ease the financial burden many families face as the school year approaches while helping students walk into class with confidence on day one.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children early, as demand is expected to be high. The event is open to all eligible students throughout Hale County and surrounding communities.

With classes just around the corner, organizers hope the community will come together to make sure every student has the opportunity for a fresh cut and a fresh start before the first bell rings.
