Jada Pinkett-Smith on Tupac’s Death: ‘When I think about it, I Still Get Really Mad’ [VIDEO]
Everyone knows that Jada Pinkett-Smith and Tupac Shakur shared a deep bond together, and rarely does she talk about it in the public eye until now.
On the second episode of Red Table Talk, Jada, her daughter Willow Smith and the family matriarch, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, had an emotional discussion about loss, pain, and mourning.
During their talk, the veteran actress spoke candidly about her friendship with Tupac, which stretches back to her high school days in Baltimore. Sadly, on Sept. 13, 1996, 'Pac died from the injuries he suffered in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
Jada said the loss left her with a lot of pain and a lot of anger.
"I've had a lot of loss. So many of my close friends are gone. They didn't make it to 30. They didn't make it past 25," she said. "A lot of people talk about my relationship with Pac and figure that out. That was a huge loss in my life."
"Because he was one of those people I expected to be here. My upset is more anger because I feel like he left me," she continued. "And I know that's not true and it's a very selfish way to think about it...I really did believe he'd be here for the long run. And when I think about it, I still get really mad. I get mad at God; I get mad at him (Tupac), I get mad at everybody."
Although 'Pac died at a very young age, the 46-year-old actress feels that he made his mark in the world before his untimely passing. "He played his role...he did what he was meant to do...he's an icon," said Jada.
Jada's daughter Willow also opened up about a loss in her life and delivers some shocking news that neither her mom or dad (Will Smith) know.
