We have all heard the fables of JD Davison's elite athleticism and next-level basketball talent since the moment he committed to the University of Alabama.

Many grew doubtful the guard would ever blossom into the superstar that scouts believed he could become because of his struggles during his freshman year with the Tide.

Despite many fan and analyst opinions that Davison should stay with the Tide another season before entering the draft, the Calhoun High School alumni decided to declare after an underwhelming freshman year, leading many to speculate that Davison's talent may be tragically wasted by rushing the process.

Throughout the first few games of the Summer League, some of those speculations were seeming to be confirmed, after underwhelming shooting performances in the Celtics' first three summer league bouts.

But on Thursday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, Davison shut the doubters down.

Davison exploded against the Grizzlies' summer league team, scoring 28 points on an uber-efficient shooting performance. He was 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point range, along with a perfect six for six from the charity stripe.

Along with his efficient scoring performance, Davison also displayed his elite ability to facilitate the offense by finding teammates for 10 assists against only three turnovers.

Davison has shown his ability to facilitate since his Summer League debut and Davison cited that distinction in his game while breaking down how he was able to put on his outstanding scoring performance Thursday night.

Defensively, Davison also added five rebounds, three steals and a block, leading the Celtics to a 108-91 victory and giving the Celtics a record of three wins and one loss, tying for the best in the Summer League.

Davison will have to prove that he can perform at this level consistently, but if he can maintain this play then he will be squarely in contention for NBA Summer League MVP by the time the league wraps up and will force Boston to consider giving Davison serious minutes when the regular season rolls around.
