Alabama basketball player John Petty Jr. was once again named  the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced earlier today.

This is the second time in three weeks the senior guard has won this award. In the Crimson Tide’s last game against Arkansas, Petty set the program record for all-time career 3-point shots made and led the team to a 31-point win, the largest margin of victory of the season.

He has been a force from beyond the arc for the Crimson Tide in the last week, going a total of 9 for 16 against the Razorbacks and the Kentucky Wildcats. He has also been Alabama’s leading scorer the last two games, totaling 40 points.

This award marks the 3rd time in Petty’s Alabama career that he has been named the SEC player of the Week. He was also the SEC Freshman of the week twice during the 2017-2018 season.

Next up, Petty leads the Crimson Tide to Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers (10-2, 5-1). The game will be broadcasted on ESPN 2 at 8:00 p.m. CT.
