
Women of Prayer and Power Hosts Back-to-School Bash in Moundville, Alabama
It is ‘Back-to-School’ season, and the Women of Prayer and Power invite the entire community to their ‘Back-to-School’ Bash on Saturday, August 1. The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Downtown Moundville, next to Big Mike’s Steakhouse.
Committed to uplifting individuals and strengthening communities, Women of Prayer and Power is a nonprofit organization founded by Jessica Vanhorn. Through prayer, outreach, community service, youth programs, educational initiatives, and acts of encouragement, the organization is dedicated to bringing hope and support to individuals and families.
“Bring the whole family and enjoy a day of fellowship, fun, education, and community support as we prepare our children for a successful school year,” said the press release. Also, Organizers said the event is open to the public and free for children and families.

- Music and Fun for the Entire Family
- Project FREEDOM with VitAL Alabama, a “community education initiative focused on opioid and fentanyl awareness, will be present to provide education on how to recognize an opioid overdose, what Naloxone (Narcan) is, and how to administer it. Also, FREE NARCAN kits will be distributed as provided by the Alabama Department of Public Health,” said the press release.
