Lil Kim Responds to Story That Biggie Pulled a Gun on Her: ‘We Had a Very Violent Relationship’
Biggie and Lil’ Kim had a tumultuous relationship back in the ‘90s that included many fights and arguments. Veteran hitmaker Jermaine Dupri was a witness to one of their heated altercations that led to a gun being pulled in the studio.
In a three-hour-long interview on The Drink Champs podcast, Dupri revealed that Biggie held Kim at gunpoint. Apparently, the later rapper written a verse for her to rap on Usher’s My Way song “Just Like Me.” But Kim wasn’t in the mood to record the verse.
"So what [Biggie] did was he wrote the rap for Lil' Kim, and [Kim] at this particular point in time, this was the time B.I.G. I'm thinking, he fucked Kim's sister," recalls JD. "This is in the music though. This is in the music. And she found out about it, so she was upset when she came to the studio about this and he couldn't really get her to do the rap."
Biggie and Kim started arguing in the studio and that's when things went from worst to violent.
"Me and Usher was just, you know, we was there, young, watching what was going on and B.I.G. pulled the strap out on her," said Dupri. "To just let her know that he was gonna kill her."
In a recent Hot 97 interview, Lil' Kim admitted that the incident did occur but she brushed it off as her being attracted to violent men (watch the video below).
"The story is not exactly how he said it, but it’s very close to the truth,” Kim said in the interview. “We did have a very violent relationship. I hate that, but for a while, that was all I attracted. It is what it is. He was everything. You know how it is when you’re in the industry, the guys get you whatever you want, but you can’t do shit. You can’t do nothing.”
Meanwhile, fans are horrified that Biggie was so violent to Lil' Kim.
"Honestly, fuck Biggie for what he did to lil kim," tweeted one fan. Another person wrote, "I would love a movie on Lil Kim... the biggie incident.. her going through surgery.. all the way up until now."
