The Literacy Council of West Alabama will host its 2nd Annual BookStock Festival on Saturday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the New Heights Community Resource Center, 3834 21st Street, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 35401.

BookStock Is a Free Event that is Open to the Public

The press release said that “the purpose of this event is to raise awareness about the importance of reading in our community.” During BookStock activities will focus on the issues that are central to the mission of The Literacy Council of West Alabama. “Getting books to those in need, encouraging children to read at an early age, and tutoring those who cannot read especially in managing their personal finances and everyday needs.”

The day’s activities will include a hands-on book construction project led by the UA Books Arts Program, tutoring sign-ups, a “Little Library” activity corner, sign-up for elementary and middle school grade level Book Clubs, enjoy a scavenger hunt, a360 degree photo booth, and free lunch for participating families.
