As a father, this is one of the things you hear that makes your stomach hurt.

I don't think any parent wants to hear about their child being killed, no matter the age.

It has to be even worse when your child dies at a young age. Unfortunately, that's what happened to this Mississippi family.

Community members are outraged over the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old at the hands of police.

"We responded to this area for a 911 caller advising there was individuals pointing firearms at passing motorists." Said Gulfport Police Chief Adam Cooper during an interview with WWL.

"We made contact with the individuals, they then fled from the vehicle, Chief Cooper went on to say, "One of our officers engaged with an armed individual, shots were fired, the suspect was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound."

Community members are saying that the 15-year-old was not armed.

There is a video circulating on social media of an alleged eyewitness account of the shooting.

"I did not see a gun on him," the woman in the video said as she also mentioned she was suffering from PTSD after witnessing the situation.

"He was coming out the store with his hands up."

You can see the video below of the woman's account of this very unfortunate incident.

This whole situation is very sad to hear about.

A young life was lost and that family will never get to see their loved one again following this shooting.

According to a Facebook post by Marquell Bridges, the 15-year-old fought for his life for 15 minutes while handcuffed on the ground after being shot.

The community is calling for the body cam footage and grocery store footage to be released in hopes of getting a better understanding of what took place that day.

No matter your personal feelings on this matter, the fact remains that a young life was lost and his family and friends will never be the same.
