We've all done it one time or another, especially in the sweltering summers we have here in Alabama.

A water bottle left with the hot sun beating down on it in your car could have terrible effects.

The water, combined with the shape of the bottle and the glare of the sun, can start a fire. David Richardson, of the Midwest City Fire Department stated,

Sunlight will come through when it’s filled with liquid, and act as a magnifying glass like you would with regular optics,

So just to be safe, don't leave any bottles of water out in your car and we won't have to read about you and fire started by a water bottle.
