Possible Damaging Winds, Hail, Heavy Rainfall in Alabama Sunday
Timing of Severe Weather
There is the potential for severe weather to impact portions of the Townsquare Media coverage area on Sunday afternoon into the evening maybe even into the overnight hours.
Possible Threats
We are closely watching this weather system that could bring the threats of damaging wind gusts, large hail, and possible locally heavy rainfall.
According to James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, “It won't rain all day tomorrow, and some places could miss the rain, but most communities have a good chance of seeing a few passing showers or thunderstorms. The high will be in the mid-80s.”
Potential Impacted Areas
Currently, the Storm Prediction Center has increased the “Northwest portions of Central Alabama increased to a "Slight Risk" (level 2/5) while the "Marginal Risk" was expanded south.”
Upcoming Week Outlook
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that “active and unsettled weather remains forecast into much of next week with additional disturbances moving across the region.” In addition, there will be “showers and thunderstorms on most days.”
