Our area is faced with active weather over the next few days. The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that “a few storms may become severe during the afternoon and evening hours on Sunday and Monday, associated with the arrival of a front."

Severe Sunday:
  • Where: Much of central Alabama
  • When: Afternoon and evening hours
  • Impacts: Damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail

Hurricane Season Update

We are monitoring Tropical Depression Ten which is forecasted to move northward and intensify over the eastern Gulf of Mexico.

Based on current tracking the Southwest U.S. could feel impacts by midweek. We will continue to monitor this weather situation as the system is developing. The “5-day forecast cone and adjustments to the forecast path and intensity may occur,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
