Potential For Flash Flooding Tuesday Through Thursday
What? More rain is headed our way. That’s right, let’s all start singing “Rain Rain Go Away”? Here is the rain outlook for the week, and our ray of sunshine comes our way on Friday.
Monday: Showers with the potential of afternoon thunderstorms. The chance of precipitation is 90%.
Tuesday: Showers and Thunderstorms with 90% precipitation.
Wednesday: 100% chance of precipitation with showers and thunderstorms.
Thursday: 80% chance of precipitation with showers and thunderstorms.
Friday: Sunny!
The influx of rain this week gives us the potential for flash flooding Tuesday through Thursday. The National Weather Service has a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the following counties, "Marion-Lamar-Fayette-Winston-Walker-Blount-Etowah-Calhoun-Cherokee-Cleburne-Pickens-Tuscaloosa-Jefferson-Shelby-St. Clair-Talladega-Clay-Randolph-Sumter-Greene-Hale-Perry-Bibb-Chilton-Coosa-Tallapoosa-Chambers-Marengo-Dallas-Autauga-Lowndes-Elmore-Montgomery-Macon-Bullock-Lee-Russell-Pike-Barbour." Also, the National Weather Service mentions, that "periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are likely Tuesday through Thursday morning, resulting in the potential for flash flooding. The greatest threat appears to be along and south of Interstate 20."
