Respect ‘Back-to-School’ Rally Supports Tuscaloosa Students

Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa is proud to support the 2026 RESPECT ‘Back-to-School’ RALLY sponsored by Beulah Baptist Church and The Respect Organization. The event will be held on Thursday, August 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McDonald Hughes Community Center located at 3101 Martin Luther King Blvd, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401.

Students across the area will return to school soon, and this year’s theme for the rally is ‘Rejuvenating the Mind,’ spearheaded by Beulah Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa and Pastor David Gay along with Pastor Steve Green of More than Conquerors Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

The event is designed to encourage students to begin the school year with confidence, focus, and a positive outlook.

“I think it’s important that the church is not just in the community, but the church is a part of the community,” said Gay. “And for the many parents and their back-to-school children, every little bit helps. Beulah Baptist Church is just happy to be a part of their progress.”

1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies (first come – first served)

“In a time when people all over the world are challenged to meet the basic family survival needs, it is important that society and the church rise to the occasion,” said Green. “With that in mind, Beulah Baptist Church and the RESPECT Organization will host a Back-to-School Rally filled with backpacks, school supplies, social service agencies, giveaways, and short motivational exhortations to prepare our students to be ready on day one.”
