T-Pain is getting the recognition he richly deserves. Since wowing audiences with his impressive acoustic performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, fans have been singing the praises of the "rappa-ternt-sanga." On Friday (Oct. 2), fans officially honored him on Twitter with the ceremonial hashtag #TPainAppreciationDay.

Folks have flooded the social media site with endearing tributes to T-Pain’s indelible musical legacy. His supporters are recalling the first time they even heard of the Tallahassee, Fla. native. Others reminiscence about their favorite T-Pain concert performance and some describe their emotions when they listen to his songs.

T-Pain, who celebrated his 30th birthday last month, has responded by retweeting fans’ memories on his own timeline. It’s a big honor for a guy who popularized Auto-Tune.

But the best is yet to come. T-Pain has announced that his new project, Stoicville: The Phoenix, will arrive in stores on Dec. 11.
