2017 aside, the Iron Bowl is never irrelevant. The Crimson Tide will head to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 27 to take on its biggest rival but the Auburn Tigers will be without two of its biggest names.
Auburn junior quarterback Bo Nix was one of three quarterbacks to appear at SEC Media Days 2021. While at the podium Nix was asked about new teammate Tony Fair and the comments he made about Alabama on social media. The third year starter from Pinson Valley High School is 1-1 in his two Iron Bowls and expressed confidence facing the Tide as the game will return to Jordan Hare Stadium this season.
The game-winning score came on a 4-yard play-action pass from McElroy to senior running back Roy Upchurch. Then freshman sensation, Richardson touched the ball on the three prior plays for the Tide, one on screen and two rushes out of the backfield.
Three days ahead of the annual Iron Bowl game between Alabama and Auburn, Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Alabama Athletic department. This is the second time this season Saban has tested positive for COVID-19, however the first test resulted in a false positive diagnosis.
