According to Dan Patrick and the Detroit Free Press, the Big 10 has voted to cancel its 2020 football season. The conference voted 12-2 to cancel this season, the only dissenting universities who voted to play were Iowa and Nebraska.

Patrick says the Pac-12 will likely follow suit and cancel its season as well. The official announcement is expected to come tomorrow.

This comes mere days after the Big 10 released its official conference only schedule for the season. The Big 10 was scheduled to begin on September 3. The Big 10 commissioner, Kevin Warren, reportedly would like to hold a spring season, however no decision has been made in relation to that.

The Big 10 saw Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons, Minnesota wide receiver Rashod Bateman and Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore opt out of the 2020 season in the last two weeks and now the entire conference has chosen to opt-out of this season.

How will the SEC, Big 12 and ACC respond to this decision? Will they follow suit and cancel its season or will they forge ahead and continue plans to play in 2020?

This news comes after a turbulent weekend of news in which the Mid-American Conference (MAC) became the first FBS Conference to choose to cancel its 2020 football season.

Many players throughout the nation took to Twitter last night using the hashtag #WeWantToPlay, pleading with college football administrators not to cancel the season.

The movement was spearheaded by Clemson and Ohio State quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.

Will the Big 10's decision force the other Power 5 conferences to cancel its seasons and leave us with no college football in 2020?
