The Weeknd Wins Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best R&B Performance at 2016 Grammy Awards
The Weeknd won two trophies at the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday (Feb. 15). The R&B crooner nabbed Best Urban Contemporary Album for Beauty Behind the Madness and Best R&B Performance for “Earned It” during the Pre-Grammy ceremony.
The singer will now have to wait during the primetime telecast if he will grab any of his remaining five nominations. Among his nods are Album of the Year for BBTM and Record of the Year for “Can’t Feel My Face.”
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, will also perform at the Grammy Awards. According to the rumor mill, Abel will perform a special duet with Lauryn Hill.
So it's going to be an interesting night for the birthday boy (he celebrates his 26th B-Day on Feb. 16).
Congratulations to The Weeknd on his two Grammy wins. They are well deserved.
