Tuscaloosa is So Transparent Now with New Website

Transparency is so key in so many things in life, it makes it an open door in so many things. That's why two weeks ago I wrote a story about the city of Tuscaloosa launching a new Website that will enable you to see what's what in the city government.

UPDATE: Permit data is now available on the City of Tuscaloosa's open data site, data.tuscaloosa.com.

Tuscaloosa is the first city in Alabama to utilize buildingeye software, providing easy access to development and permit data.

Features include mapping and notifications; Individuals can see where permits are issued and can sign up for alerts when permits are issued. Permit data is updated nightly and can be utilized by homeowners, neighborhood groups, real estate professionals, developers, business owners, home buyers, among others.
